About Me

I grew up in Alberta and Ontario, finally landing in Edmonton for my high-school years. I attended Edmonton Christian High School and then went to Dordt College in Sioux Center, IA. I graduated from Dordt in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, a minor in Reading, and a specialization in Special Education. Some additional coursework through Concordia University College in Edmonton and the University of Manitoba helped me to complete an English major and a History minor. For 11 years, I taught Grade 5 and some Grade 4 at Calvin Christian School in Winnipeg, MB. During the 2015/16 school year, I taught K-5 Music at YKCS, and last year I taught Grade 5/6 Social Studies and Science here.

My husband Ken and I have been married for 8 years and we have two young daughters at home. We moved to Edson 5 years ago and attend the Edson-Peers Christian Reformed Church.

I enjoy playing games, reading, being outdoors, music, camping, cooking, the Winnipeg Jets, and playing ultimate frisbee.
