Student Dress Code

DRESS CODE

Our standards for dress and grooming are in keeping with the high Christian ideals which we seek to establish in those who attend our school. The following guidelines do not attempt to embrace every conceivable situation in the realm of dress but are meant to provide a standard for parents, faculty and students. The scriptural support for a dress code may be found in:

Our concern is that students should appear well-groomed and in properly-fitted clothing that is appropriate to the situation.

Dresses, Skirts, Tops:

All dresses and tops must have a modest, well-fitting neckline. Dresses and skirts shall be at least knee length. Sheer materials must have proper undergarments. T-shirts: no spiritually or culturally offensive printing or pictures permitted. Boys: no muscle shirts or bare midriff shirts may be worn to classes. Girls: no tank tops, tube tops or spaghetti straps for Grades 7-12. Tank tops are acceptable for Phys. Ed. classes.

Pants:

Must fit properly and be in good repair and must be worn high enough to prevent exposure of flesh and /or underclothing. Dress shorts near knee length are acceptable. Shorts for gym must have legs. No frayed cut-offs allowed. Girls: leggings must be worn with regulation shorts or skirt.

Make-up and Jewellery:

Jewellery and make-up should be modest, minimal and natural looking. Earrings are acceptable. No other body piercing, tattooing, or the appearance of such is permitted.

General:

All clothing should be properly fitted. No spandex may be worn as outerwear. No hat is to be worn in the school building. Gym clothing may not be worn in class.

Consequences:

Students who do not follow these guidelines will be sent to the office to obtain suitable apparel from the school supply for the day. Students who habitually disregard these guidelines will call their parents and wait in the office until the parents arrive with appropriate clothing.
